4-6 days is the standard consumption recommendation. However, correct storing of your biltong can extend its longevity.
The recommended way to store our biltong, if you don't want to share it, is to 'hide’ your Biltong in a cool, dry, well ventilated place out of direct sunlight. A kitchen cupboard away from your oven would be just fine!
Biltong is made with sustainably sourced grass fed UK, Irish and EU Beef. The cut used is called Silverside, best known and used for biltong.
Biltong is best described as a ‘dried’ or ‘cured’ meat. Biltong firstly goes through a process of being cured and marinated, then to be hung on hooks to air dry before being sliced, packaged and ready to eat. Yum!
Oxidation. As soon as the biltong stick is sliced, the surface of the biltong is open to air, oxidation takes place altering the pink tone to turn to more of a brown tone. It’s a perfectly natural reaction. But, the flavoursome taste, texture and tenderness won’t be affected.
If you would like your biltong pink, drop us an email and we could arrange for you to buy a whole stick, slice it yourself as and when you want some biltong. We can’t however guarantee you’ll be able to fight the temptation of demolishing the full stick. GOOD LUCK!
All of our biltong is Gluten Free. However, our Droewors is not.
Our malt vinegar has been scientifically tested and contains gluten levels below the threshold deemed safe by the Celiac Foundation, making our biltong suitable for those with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities.
If concerned about gluten in malt vinegar, we also offer ‘The Original’ Biltong flavour made with gluten free, apple cider vinegar, which is just as flavorsome and delicious. We recommend any concerns about malt vinegar you should consult with your doctor.
Our Biltong comes in five flavours. We have our classic Tasty Traditional, Wild Garlic, Tangy Peri Peri, Nice & Spicy and ‘The Original’ Biltong, we also offer a Lean or Fatty variety.
Our Droewors comes in two flavours, Tasty Traditional and Wild Garlic.

DON’T WORRY! It’s very common and poses no danger for consumption. The ‘white bits’ are in fact just salt used to marinate the beef trying to rehydrate due to humidity. A handy and easy tip to remove this salt is to just wipe it away with a little vinegar. Just as delicious, we promise
