Pretty close to what I used to make in my teens in Pretoria. Verified Purchase

As someone whose family used to make biltong back in the '70's in Pretoria, South Africa, This product tastes pretty close to ours then, although we used only crushed coriander seed to flavour the vinegar and coarse salt solution we marinated the meat in overnight before hanging up to dry. One quibble - our biltong lasted several months (and then only because we ate it so quickly!), so I have always been puzzled about the eat within three days notice on the label, rather than the more more useful notice to store in a dry, airtight container. After all, the purpose of biltong by the Voortrekkers, was to preserve the meat of the animals they shot, to keep whilst they they were on the move.
